The Mystery Bloggers Award

Jennifer Paetsch from Little Monster Girl nominated me for The Mystery Bloggers Award.
I know these blogger awards things are popular with some and not so much with others. I think they’re helpful to share a little link love and it’s nice to know that fellow bloggers think of one another.

  2. What one word describes you best?
  3. How do you define friendship?
  4. What’s your favourite social media platform and why?
  5. Do you like the smell of your own farts?

Now to answer Jennifer’s questions:

  1. You found something in a drawer you forgot. What is it and what is it for?
A fob watch. It’s a watch, it tells time. I’m not sure I’ll ever use it because I always carry my iPhone with me.

  2. Favourite day of the year?
06 June because on 6 June 1859 the colony of Queensland was established.

  3. Cake or death?
Cake. I want cake every day.

  4. Do you prefer spicy, sweet, or savoury?
Spicy, I really like spicy foods. I don’t like them really spicy, but I like my food to have some spiciness to it.

  5. How many pets have you had in you life and what were they? Tell us about them!
My first dog was Trixie. She got hit by a car when I was a toddler. I had a pet fish when I was five. I can’t remember it’s name. I accidentally killed it by overfeeding it. When I was a teenager we had a bird, Sandy. I accidentally killed her when she broke her leg and she had faeces stuck to her because she couldn’t walk and I pulled too hard and prolapsed her cloaca. Between 1993 and 2005, we had a Golden Labrador Retriever. His registered name was Staphylococcus aureus. He answered to Staph. He was a beautiful dog.

    1. Awww, thank you, but that’s the photograph that gets shared by everyone who passes on the award. My photographs on the rest of the site, tend to be straight forward shots of things like Lake Ginninderra.

  1. My apologies for my chuckles earlier. I came back and reread this and I swear, I’m seeing content here that I somehow missed earlier, Gary. The death of your pets is definitely no laughing matter. Please forgive my unintended insensitivity.

    1. No worries JM I didn’t take your comments as insensitive.
I appreciate all comments from my friends like you.

  2. Thank you very much for your nomination, Gary 🙂
I don’t do awards any longer, but of course I will answer your questions.
My favorite food: Spicy mixed vegetables with nuts and maybe cheese too
Favorite day of the year: I don’t have such one, but I like to celebrate the days of my kids birthdays
How I define friendship: Real friends are rare and need to be taken care of like diamonds. Many people are too busy to use time for real friendship, which also is an investment of time. Real friends are the few, you can call anytime day or night, if you need them either for talking or to stay physical together with
My favorite social platform: WordPress, the others I don’t use so much time to visit
If I like the smell of my farts: No, that smell doesn’t belong among my favorites.
    Enjoy your weekend, Gary 🙂

    1. Hello, Irene. Thank you so much for answering the questions and playing along. Great answers.

  3. oh congratulations Gary! And thank you!
by the way I love cake too!
I never carry a watch because whether it is a quartz or battery it will stop working within months of getting it. 🙁
I love FB it is where I connected with all my friends from school, work, but WP is where I met you and all my other bloggers. 😉
i love spicy but spicy hates me.

    1. It’s a pit we can’t eat cake every day 😃
I wax and wane on Facebook. I used to love Twitter, but I’m not feeling it as much anymore.

    2. I use twitter so I can talk about tv shows thats about all. because I love my characters. the one time i had just wrote an erotic story, and it published on twitter. 5 minutes later a soap star used to play on Beast Master followed me on Twitter. I had a stroke. I was just hoping he had not read that story, but then I remembered I had commented on his character . What a noob!
      the pitfalls of social media!

    3. I remember that Rebecca and thought it was out of character given the controls you have in place but it’s great you can comment about it and have a smile.

    4. lol i dont mind posting my erotica on twitter, but FB is a whole nuther situation. family is on FB.
      dont want them reading that.

  4. Cake…too much of cake will lead to death. Same goes with anything 😀 Thank you so much for the nomination, Gaz. Very kind of you. I don’t do Awards as a part of my blog posts but I will put a link to your stuff on my Awards page. Now, to answer your questions:

Can’t choose one particular favourite food. But I prefer savoury over sweet. Pizza. Fish and chips. Smoked salmon. Chips. Chocolate. Ice cream. Cake. Too many to name.
The best kind of friendships are the ones where you talk all the time almost every day, be it in person or online – and the kind of talk where you can talk about anything.
I’m on the fence for all social media platforms and use them for different reasons. Twitter, I use mainly to share interesting articles I read and share blogs. I also use Twitter to chat /direct message with a number of people too. IG, I have one personal, one public. Personal is personal and public is where I showcase my photography. Linkedin, I’m hardly on there. Facebook I really only use it to update my blog Facebook. I don’t really look at my Facebook feed anymore, maybe just look at 4, 5 Top Posts every one or two days and that’s it. Really I just use the Messenger to chat with close friends and those who matter to me.
I have tons of sinus issues and don’t have much of a sense of smell. Can barely smell food when it’s cooking in the ktichen, don’t think I smell farts 😀

    1. I love your answers Mabel.
I’ve developed some very real friendships on-line so I think I’m going to stay a social media devotee.
I wax and wane with both Twitter and Facebook. Instagram is my favourite platform.

    2. You know what, me too and I don’t think I can live without social media. Very glad we have connected, Gaz man (I wonder if people call you that, like, sharp as the clothing brand) 😊

    3. Haha, yep, from time to time, I get called Gaz Man and something is said about the clothing brand. I remember having a Gaz man shirt once. It was pretty good.

Go on, leave a comment, you know you want to
