Spam memes and Yummy Lummy

I had a fabulous week. I was in Brisbane, spending time with my parents. I also got some time with my daughters 😃👍❤💯

The weather in Brisbane was much warmer than Canberra and most days I was able to get about in a T-shirt and shorts. Earlier in the week, I noticed the Canberra mornings were as low as –5 °C/23 °F. I’m now back in Canberra and wrapped in layers with the heating turned on. I woke up this morning at it was –2.5 °C/27.5 °F.

What I ate in Brisbane

I’ve written a post over at Yummy Lummy on what I ate. As I was writing the post, I marvelled at just how much I had consumed.

I weighed in this morning at 82.2 kg/181.2 lb 😳

I thought I would be a lot heavier. As I write this I’m eating a piece of chocolate on chocolate mud cake from Dobinsons Bakery.

It’s pretty common for friends on social media, mainly, Twitter and Facebook, to tag me or mention me, when they want to share a meme about Spam.

I’m talking about the delicious pork shoulder and ham product which has been tinned and enjoyed by humans for decades. I’m not talking about the rubbish e-mails you receive in your inbox from people wanting to scam you out of your hard-earned money.

So this week, someone started a meme with US President Donald Trump’s face sculptured into a block of Spam.

Of course, a couple of friends shared it with me on Twitter.

Happy EOFY

Today marks the end of the financial year in Australia. I can now look forward to doing my taxation return soon.

If you’re a business owner, I hope you were able to find some bargains to make claims for a taxation deduction.

State of Origin

Well, the Mighty XXXX Queensland Maroons weren’t able to defeat the NSW Blues last Sunday night in the second game of the series. As a result, NSW has won the series this year. Hopefully, when the third game swings around, it won’t be a 3-0 finish.

  1. That is one amazing cake from Dobinsons…I have decided to head off to Seminyak with some friends next month; get out of this cold for my short winter escape.

    1. Safe travels Sue. I reckon Winter escapes are the best way to cope with long Canberra winters.

      I know need to come down to Earth and start thinking about losing weight again 😂
      I did buy a tin of Spam yesterday, fortunately, no sculptures were suggested on the outside of the tin.

    2. LoL 😂. I can see a new genre in the food art department. I’ve always enjoyed a little spam sammich or spam n eggs now an then. You just cant go wrong in a pinch with a good can of spam.

    Really did sounded like a good week in food when I read your post yesterday. Definitely need more weeks like those.

    I usually am not a fan of it when people tag me in a lot of things. Sparingly I don’t mind because there really are quite a few funny memes out there.

    1. Honestly, I feel quite chuffed that when people see spam they think of me. I just wish the Spam brand would make me a spambassador so I could get free spam 😂
      The forecast for tomorrow is –2 °C.
