Still feeling blergh

I’m still feeling blergh after a couple of weeks of incessant coughing and sleepless nights. It’s not just the coughing but the lack of sleep getting to me. Every morning I’ve been feeling crapulent and all day I feel like a zombie.

Last weekend, going to The Ekka was a good thing but it hasn’t helped me feel any better. If anything, I feel worse. The problem is, it’s not like I have a fever, or a severe headache or any other pain, just a persistent, some paranasal congestion and brain fog from a lack of sleep.

I was hoping with this weekend being fine I could get out and try to shake things off.

The weekend started well with a spicy pork burrito and a Bundaberg ginger beer.

Last night I downloaded the Sarahah app and started playing. You should give it a go.

For breakfast this morning rather than raisin toast at Everbean Espresso Bar I made a bacon and cheese sandwich with some freshly brewed coffee to celebrate the Brisbane Broncos victory last night.

It’s winter but there are flowers. No wonder my allergic rhinitis is also causing me grief.

As I type this I’m coughing and spluttering and feeling blergh. I wish I wasn’t. Despite getting a little exercise, eating some yummy food and having a nap, I still feel like crap.

There’s a lot of circulating viral infections in Canberra

This is a snip from a report I authorised yesterday.

Hopefully, I’ll start feeling better soon.

  1. Oh no you are feeling blergh! When it escalates to bleuuuurgh! call me! I once had a persistent cough so bad that I was fighting myself NOT to cough each time cos it was so painful, so I hear ya. Get well soon….Plus, I love them but what is your thing with cows lol? Great pics, get well soon…again.

    1. Thanks. At the moment it’s still blergh but I’m not letting it stop me eat yummy food. It’s pay day today and I’m having lunch with some friends in a local Chinese restaurant situated in a Greek club so I can get my multiethnic vibe on.
Cows, well I like cows. They are cute animals. I like to eat beef too and I’m partial to some dairy like butter, cream, and ice cream 😃 They’re also slow moving, so they’re easy to photograph!

  2. I am sad you are still feeling icky. Big northern hugs! I am so looking forward to listening to your podcasts, I bet you do have a soothing voice. Even all sick! Great photo montage, it is always nice to escape into the outside.

    1. Thanks Kris. This has been an odd illness and it’s afflicted so many in the Canberra region. It’s become commonplace to hear people say it’s not the worse illness to affect them, but just the persistent exhaustion from coughing and the resultant brain fog has worn so many people down.
The podcast is like this blog, a hobby, something to occupy my mind and keep my nerdy geeky side happy.

    1. And I got more than enough sauce for my nugs. Having the right sauce to nugs ratio is important 😃

    2. The ones I had on Saturday were with garlic aioli. Not too bad.

  3. Really do hope you feel better soon, Gaz. Maybe it is a bacterial infection you got there. I remember a few years ago I had something similar to what you may be going through – had bit of sniffles but it wasn’t like a full blown cold, but it was enough to make me feel sick with a cough and I couldn’t keep my eyes open. It went on for a few weeks 😒

It is a great deal Maccas are having. If it is still going on next weekend, I might grab those nuggets. Today I grabbed a BIg Mac instead. And some ice-cream and strawberries from Woolies which are now in the fridge… 😊😂 Here’s to a good week.

    1. Thanks Mabel. I don’t think it’s a secondary bacterial infection.
I’ve been challenged by another friend to have a hash brown on a Big Mac. This means I have to arrive at the end of breakfast so I can buy a hash brown to put in a Big Mac.

    2. I thought Maccas are now serving breakfast all day. That’s the case the Maccas in my area. You could walk to the counter at 5pm and order a hash brown for dinner and they’d serve it up for you.

    3. Excellent. I’ll have to check that out Mabel 😃😋

    4. I can’t believe you don’t know. This all-day breakfast thing has been going on for quite a while 😂

    5. It just shows how little Maccas I eat even though I have one just down the road 😃😂🤣

    6. I remember you ate a chicken Big Mac with a vanilla shake the other day. You do eat Maccas quite…a bit… 😃😃😃 Now you need to go find that all-day breakfast 😃😃

    7. So the challenge for me is to eat Maccas more often 🤣😂😋😃

  4. Ha ha about buying Spam on sale. Hope you feel better soon Gary. I did a walk around Gininderra on Wed. It was so lovely.
